Hello blogsphere! My name is Jessica Cimino and I am an ENL instructor at Syracuse University.
This blog was created as a collaborative writing project between myself
and my students, who are all part of a course called ENL 207 at Syracuse
University. ENL 207 is an advanced integrated skills course for
non-native English speaking students. The course focuses on: "the
principles of academic writing and reading, and further study of complex
sentence patterns and vocabulary."
Our wonderful class is comprised of eighteen students from all over the
world. Each student has a unique cultural background and has been
attending Syracuse University from anywhere between one semester to two
years.
On this collaborative blog, you will find a post from each student. All
of my students worked very hard to complete an assignment in which they
were told to create a blog post that compared some aspect of life in
their home country to life in the United States. In some cases, they
have even included pictures or videos! We are all eager to share our
cultural observations with you and sincerely hope you enjoy.
